Sachar Committee Report
and
The Constituent Assembly

(In Historical Perspective)

  • Sachar Committee has presented the problems of poverty, unemployment, education and deprivations of different kinds, faced by the people of India in general, as those of Muslims alone.

  • It has not only distorted and fuzzed the data but also hidden the fact that in at least Nine States Muslims are better off than their Hindu counter-parts.

  • Sachar Committee Report reads like a complaints of complains and demands of Muslims right from Sir Syed's time to 1946. The solutions recommended are the same, which led to the partition of the country.
